CLIENT SERVICES
Choosing between external recruitment methods.
High Street Employment Agency
Advantage
- Candidates available quickly from a database, so can lead to a fast appointment;
- Local agency supplies local candidates, so no need for relocation when setting up an new office in a new locality;
- Good for junior jobs and standard staff positions.
Disadvantage
- Candidates interview actively for many jobs at once, often through several agencies;
- Frequent 'no-shows' for interview;
- Unless a fast offer is made, the candidate may accept offer elsewhere, wasting client's time and effort spent;
- Much heavier burden of time, management and decision-making by executive responsible for the recruitment;
- Difficulty in controlling the process;
- Agency staff's focus and energy are on making their fee, usually on 'No-appointment-no-fee' basis and competitively with other agencies, so loyalty is not to any one client;
- Emphasis is often on speed and placement rather than quality and good fit.
